Today we are going to talk about your confidence. What can you do if you lack confidence? How can you turn things around and boost that confidence in order to achieve your goals? Answers inside
So today I want to talk about confidence. OK. So very important right. And this is something that we need to address. We need to talk about this and hopefully it can help a lot of people. So it always starts with a discussion that I have with people who say “I have zero confidence in myself”. And it's a problem for a lot of people.
Me for example at some point, with someone I was mentoring, her main problem was that lack of confidence that she had in herself and more than trying to teach her stuff like the how to’s like do this and do that, my main job was to help her gain confidence in herself because this is not just for business. All right.
What I wanted to give her was something more precious, something that will serve her for life just for her to understand that she can accomplish things but she needs to believe in herself.
If You Don't Believe In Yourself, Nobody Will
So it's very hard to get to a point where you actually do believe in yourself because there are different dimensions to it. It is not uni dimensional. Confidence will vary depending on the fields you know. So you can be a very confident poker player. But then afterwards you might not be confident in a business situation.
So people are like “oh man you're so confident. I wish I were like you” and stuff and I'm like well you know what? I'm confident in this business thing. But it doesn't mean I'm confident in everything. There are a lot of fields where I'm really not confident you know and I can learn that confidence from other people.
OK so you might not be comfortable in a specific area, but it doesn't mean that you're not confident in anything in your life. It doesn't mean that OK. This is what the first thing.
Second thing is you can work on it OK. You're not doomed if you don't have the confidence in something you're doing. You just have to work on it and you just have to practice it. And again I'm not just talking about business here. We're talking about everything. Right. You can always work on this because everything is in your brain.
OK. I'm reading this book and as you know your brain does what you tell it to do. You know you can condition your brain to do something. So if your brain is convinced that “man don't go and approach this person because it’s the worst thing that can happen to you and then you're doomed and then you're going to die or something.
Well this is what the brain is going to protect you from. Once you condition the brain to realize that you know that person wasn't interested then that's it. Then you move on to something else.
So that's how I rationalize it and it makes it easier. So my brain is very analytical. So I have to trick my brain with like analytical stuff. I'm like dude like look at the numbers and it’s like yeah you're right. You know what. Let's go for it!!
You know so find what can help you unblock this and then you can realize that you can tell your brain that it's not the end of the world, because the lack of confidence is just you overthinking the bad outcome that can happen. If you create a landing page and it doesn't do very well, you're not going to die. So just rationalize the situation and it helps. Right.
