Forget This Step & You Are Doomed…Sorry bro.

Today we are going to talk about a crucial step that can make or break your market research (in some cases) and how you can avoid it. The sad truth is that nobody tells you about that stuff but thankfully you have ME!

So did you guys like the story yesterday about my friend Matt? And how, you know, he started his business before validating that whatever he was selling was actually something that people will buy.

So some people are telling me, oh, you know what? That's really cool because I you know where to start. And now I know that I need to start with this crucial step before actually do something. There is a risk in starting businesses. Right.

So, you know, we can have a financial risk. There is a risk in everything. Right. But there are ways to mitigate risk and to minimize those risks. And this is one of the best ways to minimize the risk, because you don't want to buy a boatload of items if you don't know whether it's going to sell.

And Matt, he learned from that. And the next business he started, he made sure to make this crucial check. And he actually became successful with this thing. So he found something that was actually pretty cool like the other one. But this time people were ready to actually buy that stuff.

So he made his money back and, you know, it’s a happy ending. So you went broke for a while. He learned his lesson and then afterwards he managed to make that money back. But there is something crucial that I forgot to tell you.

This is one thing that 99 percent of the people doing research don't do. And, you know, 99 percent of the people teaching you that you need to do the research, don’t tell you this. All right. So it's going to be a scoop.

So let's say, for example, you want to sell a product for you and identify what's the number one sport in the country. And then you want to focus on this, because you know that people who like sports, they're passionate and crazy about it. Let's say your market is the US. What I forgot to tell you yesterday is that when you do the research, you need to be in there yourself.

All right, so I'm pretty sure that a lot of you guys are confused. Like dude. I live in Australia or I live in Germany. What the hell do you mean? I have to be in the U.S. Yes, you have to be in the U.S. But I don't I don't mean physically present in the US. I'm going to explain.

There are tools that you can use so that you can be in the U.S. without being in the U.S.. All right. It may be a little bit confusing, but I will explain now. So there is a tool called VPN. VPN is a virtual private network. OK.

The VPN is a tunnel. So let's say, for example, you had a tunnel under your house that goes under your house through your whole country, under the ocean, and then exits in the U.S. And it's like, you know, secret like a corridor or something like secret escape routes. Right.

And whenever you need, you can go through this tunnel and then appear somewhere in the U.S.. OK. This is what the VPN does. For the rest of the Internet, you appear as if you are at the other end of that tunnel in the U.S.. OK. So and you know what?

So basically what you do is that there is this computer that's somewhere in the U.S., let's say in New York, and you are going to connect to this computer. OK. So you connect to that computer and then you access Internet from that computer. Right. So as far as Internet is concerned, you are in New York without physically having to fly there and stuff because it's going to be expensive otherwise.

So why do you want to use a VPN? OK. You want to use that for Google searches. What you need to do is to type whatever keyword it is that you want to get in business for. So let's say I don't know, I want to sell high heeled shoes or something. You know, I type high heeled shoes on Google and then I look at the results. Are people paying for ads on that product?

If you see that there are people there, then it means that, well, you know what, there is a market for that stuff. You need to see how many people are there. If they're like 3000 people there, it might be saturated. It may be really hard to get into. All right. And you need to look at the top 10 organic results as well.

And let's say you're in the U.S. But you want to target Australia. You don't know anything about Australia. And you type in the US on your computer. Number one, sport, bam! And what do you have? You have like American football or, I don't know, baseball or something. Right.

Because you are in the US and it’s giving you results for the U.S. But let's say you only use that information and you're like, dude, I'm going to create a product for American football and sell it in Australia. What will happen? It will be a flop. Why? It will be a flop because nobody hears about American football over there. They don't care. Right. They care about rugby and some weird sports that they have over there.

And this is a crucial step that you need to use to understand this. So what you want to do before you do the research for a specific country. So if you're doing it for the country where you live, then it's easy. Right. You just type it in Google. It will check your IP address and we'll give you the local results, because what you want is for you want to see the exact results that your target audience is going to get.

So now if you wanted to do the search, you will have to VPN in Australia and you've run that search and you'll see that the results are completely different. And even though the web sites that will rank, you know, organically that will appear are completely different because, you know, it's a different market. All right.

But you do want to do that step because, you know, if you want to serve the clients, you need to reproduce the exact experience of your client.

And for this, a VPN is the best. It's the best option.
