So everybody has this, you know, this or these friends who always, like, promise you stuff. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Don't worry. I'm going to do it.
And then they always let you down. So they will do that for a given period of time. And then afterwards, what will happen is that you're not going to call these people if there is something interesting going on. You know, you can't count on these people. You don't want to be the person that people call unreliable and are not going to call you for stuff because they know that, well, this guy's not going to show up or anything.
So if you're true to your word. Right. And you basically say, oh, you know what? Let's do this. And you show up and you actually do it regardless if it works or if it doesn't work, it will be beneficial for you in the future. OK. Because you're showing that you have character. So don't do it just because you want to prove something. Do it because that's the right thing to do.
People are always, always complaining that, oh, why did the rich get richer and why the poor get poorer.
So let me explain something. These rich people, as you call them, you know, let's say there was this, uh, this project you worked with the guy, the guy shows up, does amazing work. Does everything he or she said was going to do and the projects is a success. For example, it could be a success. All right.
What will happen next time you have a project? What do you do? You will call that person. And that person delivers on their promises every single day. So that means that when there is something juicy and a really big opportunity. Who is the person you're going to call first?
Do you think it's the guy who never shows up and never does what he says or the guy that always delivered? So this is the reason why these rich get richer, because they have connections.
It's the most crucial component, to be a person that's reliable. So that means that without you having to put in extra effort and look for opportunities, those opportunities are going to come your way. Because you've shown and you have proved that you're reliable.

But here's the thing. Don't go and say I'm going to do it to stuff you don't want to do because this is one of the biggest problems. Just tell people you don't want to do it. Right. I know it's hard.
So, you know, you need you to lose this habit of saying yes to stuff that you don't want to do. Right. Because down the road, it's going to hurt. I ended up in a lot of situations where, you know, I should have said, dude, no, I'm not interested.
So you ended up in the situations where you have to make up some random excuses and stuff. But then you will become someone who is the person that you can't trust. And if you are easily affected by what people think, you might actually end up thinking that people can't trust you because, well, you suck. And eventually what's going to happen is that you're going to suck.
So that was my main lesson for today is to be true to your word. If you say that you're going to do something, then do it. This is how you make the good connections. And I mean the actual connections. People will like you for who you are and your determination. And this is how you get ahead in life.
Reliability is a competitive advantage that almost nobody talks about. When you keep your word consistently, people route opportunities to you because they know you will deliver. That is how you become a cash magnet without a marketing budget.
The one habit that made money easier to attract
You do not become a cash magnet by wanting money more. You become one by solving a painful problem for a lot of people, repeatedly. That is the whole trick. I built 1,500+ workflows for clients like Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and eBay because I solved a boring problem they hated, over and over, until the money followed.
Here is the habit. Every week, find one problem your market complains about and remove it. Do that for a year and money stops feeling random. I have run 4 companies from Bali and lived in 49 countries on exactly this loop, nothing fancy. I break down the real mechanics in The Diary of a Virtual CEO and show the campaigns on my YouTube growth hacking playlist. For the deeper data, Harvard Business Review has good writing on value creation, and the Stripe Atlas guides cover how to actually get paid once you have built the thing. Stop chasing money. Chase problems worth solving.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does keeping your word help you make more money?
When you consistently deliver what you promised, people trust you with bigger and more valuable opportunities. Word-of-mouth referrals increase, repeat business increases, and your reputation does your marketing for you. Reliability creates a compound effect that most solopreneurs underestimate completely.
What does it mean to become a cash magnet?
A cash magnet is someone whose reputation for reliability and results causes clients and opportunities to seek them out rather than the other way around. You stop chasing and start attracting. This happens when the people around you know from experience that you always do what you say.
Why is reliability a rare skill in business?
Because most people overpromise and underdeliver. Saying yes is easy. Following through consistently is hard. The person who under-promises and over-delivers stands out immediately in any market. That gap between what people promise and what they deliver is exactly where your competitive advantage lives.
How can solopreneurs build a reputation for reliability?
Start with small commitments and honor every single one. Do not commit to things you cannot deliver. Communicate proactively when something changes. Over time, people build a mental model of you as someone who gets things done. That mental model is worth more than any advertising you will ever buy.
