Today we are going to explore the most dangerous thing on the internet for entrepreneurs like us. This can literally kill your chances of success if you are not careful.
I had a very productive meeting this morning with a lady I have met before but we never actually talked business before it was just like you know we met at a dinner and this morning we had a meeting about what she does and how it could help her. And yeah it was really cool.
She's an awesome person I think there are a lot of really cool things we can do together which actually brings me to this podcast here talking about the shiny object syndrome. I face it every day my friend and it's hard. It's the hardest thing. If you ask me, the hardest thing on the Internet is not to make money on the Internet.
The hardest thing is to focus on just one thing on you because you have so many opportunities and so many different tools and models and you see them every day. You're like “oh I'm doing e-mail” and then the next day you hear something about “dude I'm making millions with Facebook” and you're like “Man I need to be on Facebook” and then bam an ad for YouTube comes up!
So the hardest thing on the Internet, at least for me, is to stay focused on one thing!
I will tell you that before reaching a certain level, you have to get training. And I absolutely advise everybody to get as much training as necessary. Because if I say as much training as possible, then you will end up in a loop where you need the next training and stuff. Sometimes you see tools and you start buying stuff right. And my personal experience is that I spent so much money on like tools.
I absolutely have no idea how many tools I have and how much money I actually spent on those tools and remember we had a podcast saying don't focus on tools, focus on strategy? When I bought these tools it was because they integrated in a strategy. I didn't buy it just because it was a tool. But it's still a lot of different things. And they were in my mind.
And then what happens is that you get the training of the tool. I'm super excited. I'm like “oh man let's make it happen”. And then BAM, next day, shiny object syndrome! Something comes up in my face, BANG and I forget about the first one and then what do I do? I spend more money and buy the second one and I'm hyped up again! I'm like “oh man you know what this is better than the first one. I'll finish that and then I'll do the first one”.
And then what happens next? BANG, another one hits me! So next thing you know I have all these tools somewhere right. And I've actually never used them because I didn't take the time to focus on it and to use them until you know I mastered them property and then I can move on to the next thing once everything is a setup and I can create another income stream. OK. So I am guilty of that like guilty 300 percent right. And that's the reason why I can talk about it.

OK. So focus on one thing if you want to be successful. Focus on one thing at a time. OK. I'm not saying just focus on one thing for the rest of your life. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying focus on one thing at a time. And until you master it you, make it work and you make it automated and make it work for you.
And then once you have that solid basis then you can go and start exploring other things. And don't do like me who spent Jesus Christ I don't know how much money on these things!
We need basically to figure out if this is just a shiny object. Is it in line with my goal or is it going to distract me from doing what I want to do? And if the answer is dude it's just going to distract you. Don't do it. I know it's hard because when the tool is presented, they're going to tell you dude if you have this tool you're gonna be a millionaire right. And by passing it up, you feel like you're losing out on something right. But your main criteria needs to be “is this in line with my goal?”
Take your time. Always remember you don't have to do it now. That can wait. Focus and stay on your track, stay in your lane and focus on what you're doing now. This this shiny new thing that just came out doesn't mean it's going to stick.
So that's a very important lesson that you guys need to remember. Stay on your track! OK.
