Today, I want to tell you about one of the main sources of stress in your life. It's also one of the sneakiest because you probably don't realize how much it is affecting you and how often it gets your stress levels to spike every day.

For the last four years or even more, I haven't worn a watch. And something really interesting happens when you don't have a watch. A reflex that I had before when I was working in big cities was that maybe every like, you know, ten minutes you will look at your watch. Right? Think about it. How often do you look at that watch? You know, it's a reflex. You don't actually realize it.
It's like touching your face. How often do you touch your face during the day? It's something absolutely insane. It's like 200 times or something. And there’s something about, you know, you having to wash your hands and all that stuff. They were explaining that. Dude, you don't realize but you touch your face a lot.
So these are the sort of things that you do and you don't realize and looking at your watch is something that you do a lot. I remember that when I got rid of my watch, I was like, dude, what's the point of this watch? It's annoying.
Anyway, I realized that when you don't have a watch anymore, you realize how often you actually look at it. Because I had those reflexes. I wasn't conscious of it. But sometimes in the first couple of days when I was doing my travels, I was looking at my wrist. And that’s how I realized how often I was doing it, because I was just like an idiot watching my wrist.
And here's the thing. The thing is that when you check your watch, there are only a few occasions during the day where you actually need that stupid watch, because you need to wake up and you need to catch your bus or something, but you look at it all the freaking time and this thing is stressing you out for no reason. You're always running after time.

I changed a lot of things in my life. So that was one of the components. And, you know, I'm not saying that getting rid of the watch was everything. There are a lot of things that I did. But I think that not being worried about what time it is, is liberating!
It’s so liberating because this thing is dictating your life and you're always, always looking at it and being stressed. So I would like you guys to try something. Try for a week. Get rid of the watch. Don't sell it or anything, just leave it at home. And you will see what I mean.
And maybe you’ll realize how often you use the damn thing because you might have those reflexes too. You will see the difference, because again, there are only a few occasions where you actually need the watch.
I think it's an unnecessary source of stress. I really do. Before I got rid of the watch, I didn't realize it. Because when you were in it, you don't realize the same way that you've been touching your face for like two thousand times today.
And you had no idea. But I want you to be conscious of it and realize that this thing is stressing you out my friend, for nothing. Because most of the time you don't actually need that damn watch.
