In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the podcast and your continuing support, I have 3 business tips for you….
So today was a very good day because I've been consistent for the last 50 days. Yeah 50 days and I'm very very happy because in those 50 days I've never missed a podcast! So I wanted to thank you guys for these last 50 episodes.
Thank you very much because I do it for you guys and seeing that I have people listening and you know people interacting with the podcast it actually makes my day and it's an encouragement to you. It's very rewarding to know that you're just speaking in the microphone and some people are actually listening to it and its bringing value to people.
And this is one of the lessons that I wanted you guys to take away from this. You need to celebrate these small victories right. Because it's like these small milestones that you'd need to set for yourself so that it always brings you the motivation to go forward.
The most important thing in business and you know I think in life as well, is your attitude. You know if you have a positive attitude then you have the motivation and grit to go for whatever you're trying to achieve. This is what's going to make the difference. The skills. You know you can learn and you can acquire skills, right?
So the second thing is and this is very important because this is one of the reasons why you know people never make it. So when you're first starting, you will start with zero followers. Nobody knows you.
And you know sometimes you're putting in all these efforts. You think about your content to do the research and stuff. You recorded a podcast you put it out there and then nobody's listening. Right. And it's demoralizing for a lot of people.
So what I decided to do is that I don't look at the numbers. I don't look at the stats. You know just because once you start looking at the numbers, you're just running after the numbers. You'll be obsessed with these numbers. Whereas if you don't look at the numbers and you just produce your content and what you like and you want to share with the rest of the world then you know at some point people will flock to your podcast because you're not doing that.
3 Business Tips To Celebrate The 50th anniversary
And it's sad but some people's lives are now dictated by Facebook or Instagram and the quest for likes or something you know. So they're comparing likes all the time. Do what you like to do and people will actually flock afterwards. It's not that everybody is going to come and follow you but the people, who really like your stuff, will get there eventually and they will bring others.
You're not here just for likes and numbers, right? But you want to know when you're giving out this content. You want the content to be of value to people. So you have to find the balance between looking at the numbers all the freaking time and not looking at the numbers. Me right now, I'm just not looking at the numbers. I will worry about the numbers afterwards.
So it doesn't happen overnight. You need to keep going and practicing because what's going to happen afterwards is that one day someone will discover you and be like wow I absolutely love this person. And then they're going to look online and they're going to realize that you’ve been putting some content here like you're legit right. You have so many videos and they'll start watching your videos and be like oh you know what. That person is awesome!
You know all the people that you see on top of the mountain, they have to climb to their mountain. They hustled but maybe today, it looks like they're not hustling anymore. But they're still hustling. Trust me.
But yeah people do respect the hustle and if they see that you've been posting stuff for a long time then that's when at some point you'll find that big audience and you'll make it big. That's how it works. All right. So my message here is I mean whatever you're doing, don't get discouraged.
So if you only have a hundred followers, don't be ashamed. This is way better than zero and you're doing way better than 99 percent of the population. Second thing that I see here is also. So this is more in the way you interact with people. Never ever make fun of someone who is in a lower stage than you are.
Like you're like you're some sort of expert and you're making fun of newbies. Don't do this. Because at some point when you started, you were that newbie. And this person today was maybe a newbie but in a few years it might be the biggest expert on the planet that you've made fun of. Â And then afterwards you are going to regret it. OK.
