FBC – 75 – Massive earthquake in Bali

Massive earthquake in Bali.

Quick episode just to say that everything is alright and we are safe after the earthquake.

I was planning on talking about something but some things came up here. There was a massive earthquake here in Bali and it changed my whole plan as you can imagine.

You know usually I don't feel the earthquakes and all that stuff every time. Last time there was an earthquake, I was out of the country or I didn't feel it because it was early in the morning or whatever. This time I felt it.

So last week we had one and it was the first one I actually felt. I don't know how long it was. But things were shaking in the house but it wasn't too big a problem.

But this time it started shaking a little bit. So I was under the impression that it was going to be the same thing. But after a while I realized that things were getting crazy. The house was shaking everything was moving in the house. So I just ran out of the house. And that's the message in my podcast. That's when you realize what matters and what doesn't matter you know.

So we all know that money and your possessions and stuff don't matter. And you actually realize that in these circumstances the last thing you thought you were thinking about when your stuff is shaking and all hell breaks loose around you is your bank account, your money, your wallet, your phone or your laptop or whatever.

You know you're just worrying about what matters which is your life and the life of the people you care about.

I just left the house and my brother is here in Bali as well. So I was trying to make sure that my brother was OK. And that's pretty much what matters to me. This is just a reminder of the fact that all these possessions and stuff that some of us are chasing, a great part of your life chasing you know the money, the house the blah.  I mean I couldn't care less, as long as I was still alive to see it you know.

And a good friend of mine got this. This was a punch line and he said “Dude I have no interest in being the richest man in the graveyard”. And I absolutely love this quote because all the money and the wealth that you have amassed. It really doesn't mean anything once or once while it's all said and done right. You're not going to bury you with your money and everything.

So you know if it's just to say like if your motivation is money and stuff, then  you quickly realize in these situations that it's not what you covet actually it really doesn't matter when shit hits the fan, you'll see that this is not what matters.

But you know I'm not one of them anyway so yeah it's again special but guys I wasn't planning on talking about this but it's just having the right priorities in life and there are events in your life that will remind you of what matters and what doesn't matter you know.
