OK, so I saw a post recently and it was so true. It was really inspiring and I want to share that with you, OK, because a lot of you guys may be wondering, you know, what the key to success is, OK?

I did a post recently on the importance of learning how to make decisions. This is something like, honestly, up until a few months ago, it's not something I had. It wasn't something I voiced when advising people. And I realized that, dude, life is a series of decisions. This is what life is, OK?

You can make the wrong decisions. You can make the average decisions or you can make the right decisions. And so the key to success is making the right decisions. That's it.

It's making the right decisions because you are always presented with options, OK, for any given thing that you want to do, regardless for health, love, money or blah, blah, blah, you have options, OK?

And you have a decision to make. And the people who are successful are people who made a right decision. The thing is also you have to understand that there is not just one right decision, because otherwise there will be only one company who will be successful.

You can see that some companies are different. You know, if you look at Apple and if you look at Microsoft, they're targeting like completely different people.

So you can't say that one made a good decision and the other one didn't. OK, so that means you have to make a right decision and it’s very important that you understand this.

Why am I stressing this point?

It's because unfortunately, when you're watching, motivational videos, you're following someone and they are telling you about one option, its one option. It's not the only option. So I've told you several times and some people might disagree with me, but those people tell you all you need is to get up at 5:00 and meditate and then read your goals and blah, blah, blah, etc.

But there are people who actually make a really good impact and get what they want without having to do all that kind of stuff. I mean, some people might tell you just sleep two hours a day, so you have twenty two hours to work and blah, blah, blah. It works for them. Doesn't mean it's the only option.

OK, please understand this is very, very important.

What is the key to success?

OK, so obviously in order to make the right decisions, kind of like knowing the market and being knowledgeable in your product and stuff, it goes hand in hand because it gives you more ammo and material to actually base your decision on.

So you actually make an educated decision which has more chance of being right. OK, but, you know, again, there are factors that will that will impact whether it's right or wrong. And these factors are very often external.

So how do you make the right decisions? You may be wondering.  The way you get to pick the right decisions is, I will say, through experience, OK, some people have a gut feeling that, well, yeah, maybe, you know, once every blue moon, your gut feeling will help and stuff.

It doesn't mean that if you don't have experience you can't make the right decisions, but it means that if you have enough experience in the subject. Right. You have a basis for the conclusions that you made and the directions you want to take.

And sometimes you don't need that much experience. OK, the real experience that you need is the analytical experience where you've seen stuff happen and then you analyse it. You try to understand why it worked or why it didn't work.

Consistent output paired with a willingness to course correct. Most successful founders are not smarter, they just kept shipping during the years when nobody noticed. Pair a fixed weekly cadence with a quarterly review, and the result over five years is usually unrecognizable from year one.

For most solopreneurs, three to five years of consistent work before the first real breakthrough. The first eighteen months produce skill, the next eighteen produce reputation, and somewhere in year four compounding kicks in. Anyone selling six month overnight success is selling lottery tickets.

Why do most people quit just before they succeed?

The signal to noise ratio is worst right before traction. Effort is high, results are still small, and willpower is depleted. Setting a five year minimum and reviewing progress quarterly instead of weekly protects against quitting at the moment compounding is about to start producing visible results.

One ninety minute deep work block protected from notifications, applied to the highest leverage task of the week. That single habit, run five days a week for a year, produces about four hundred and fifty hours of focused work, which is enough to learn or build almost anything.
