Do you want to know one of the biggest differences between successful people and people who fail?
Today, I am going to give you a very clear example of why some people who fail had it coming. Also there something that people who are successful possess that makes a huge difference.
It will be in the form of a story. An actual story that happened a few hours ago and illustrates the difference in outcome between the two groups.

I have compressed years of trials and errors, into easy to consume episodes, to take you from where you are now, to where you want to be.
I met this guy a few months ago. A really great guy. We have a lot of things in common and a common view of life and principles and stuff. So it's very interesting. Every time I have a conversation with the guy, I learned so much and it's an absolute pleasure to talk to him.
And one thing you want to do is learn from people who actually do stuff you have great results and who are far better than you in a specific field, because this is how you can accelerate your growth and your learning potential.
So there was a training that he created that I purchased and that person purchased it as well. And some woman in France had sent a refund request saying that, oh, well, the course is talking about something that I could have found myself for free on Google.
And it's telling me about something I already heard about. And you didn't tell me exactly what to write here and what to write there and all that kind of stuff. I want a refund.
But what I find interesting in the whole story is this. So this woman, if she was referring to a course that I don't know anything about, then what do I know? But here's the thing.
I purchased the same course as she did, and it's fascinating to see that depending on who you are and your mind-set, then you will see the course very differently.

The difference between people who fail and people who are successful
So here's what this person wanted. And this is the reason why I told you several times you need to choose your clients, OK? You need to be very careful with the clients that you have, because if you have the wrong clients, it's going to be a freaking nightmare.
She wanted something where he was explaining everything to the T. You write this, comma this, and then you go here. This is the image that you use and this is blah, blah, blah. Oh, by the way, you want me to do it for you? Let me do everything for you.
OK, so this is what she wanted and she was like, oh well in the course you didn't say exactly this, exactly that. So the course gives you ideas of services that you can provide are actually very easy for you to do. So sometimes you don't actually have anything to do because you've done the work up front or it will take you just a few minutes to do and you can get paid for it.
These are not scams, these are services that people really need. And you've just found an easy way to do it.
She was just completely unreasonable as to what the training was and her expectations of, oh, OK, I buy this training and then I'm going to start making three thousand euros starting tomorrow. That's basically what she wanted, which is not the purpose of the course.
So now let me explain how I set the course. I got the same course. She got the exact same course. Right. What I saw in there, indeed, it was talking about something that I already heard about. OK, but here's the thing.
How many things have you heard about in your life? So let's say, for example, I'll tell you. Oh, well, you can make money with apps and you can make money with, I don't know, selling popsicles or a lemonade stand. You've heard that in your life, right.
So, you know, obviously, if you get a course on how to make money selling eBooks or how to make money with drop shipping or selling digital products, blah, blah, blah, it's a concept I know exists.
That's a model that exists. But, you know, the course gave me the mind-set and the chain of thought necessary to be successful in it. So basically the course was teaching me how to think. And these are some of these courses that will basically get you to say, oh, Jesus Christ, of course, why didn't I think about this before?
And this alone, this one gem is everything you need when you are buying a course of something. You're looking for this one gem. And here in this case, I was like, dude, I mean, I knew about this. Why didn't I do it?
It's because what you need is a sequence. Yeah, it sounds easy, but then there are many moving parts. Right. So that's why you don't necessarily do it. But when you have the methodology that says, look, you do this, that's it, and then you do it.
So this this course made me think, but it didnโt make her think at all.
The Difference Shows Up After The Failure, Not Before
People imagine successful entrepreneurs fail less than everyone else. In my experience the opposite is true, they fail constantly, they just do something different with it. I failed plenty, and for a long time each failure sent me looking for a new plan, a new niche, a reason to quit. The people who make it treat a failure as data, not a verdict. They lose, they learn the one lesson inside it, and they show up again the next day while everyone else is still explaining why it did not work.
So stop measuring yourself by whether you fail, because you will, and start measuring what you do in the twenty four hours after. The gap between success and failure is almost always a recovery habit, not a talent gap. I talk about the failures that nearly ended things for me on the Freedom by Choice podcast and in my own story. For the research, Harvard Business Review has covered how resilience separates high performers, and McKinsey has studied how the best teams learn from setbacks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do successful entrepreneurs fail less than everyone else?

Where does the real difference show up?
In the twenty four hours after the failure. Stop measuring yourself by whether you fail, because you will, and start measuring what you do next.
How should you treat a setback?
As data, not as a verdict. Take the one lesson inside it and show up again the next day while everyone else is still explaining why it did not work.
