โThe important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.โ

Freedom Is A Choice: So choose wisely…
Welcome to the Freedom By Choice Podcast with your one and only hoste Martin. This podcast is reserved for freedom aficionados and entrepreneurs looking to create the lifestyle of their dreams.
In this podcast you will find all the support and answers you need to start, grow and scale a business that gives you the freedom you deserve.
I have compressed years of trials and errors, into easy to consume episodes, to take you from where you are now, to where you want to be.
I like to make my life as simple as humanly possible, OK, because you have to understand that throughout the day you have a certain level of brain power and you need to make decisions, OK, regardless what the decision is.
So it's a gauge and that gauge will actually go down. It doesn't go up. OK, so you wake up in the morning, you have a certain quota and then that will just go down and down and down. OK, so that will apply to every single decision that you make.
Now with Steve Jobs and stuff. Have you noticed that they're always dressed the same? I've seen the girlfriend. Sometimes she opens the closet. There are three billion clothes in there. And she says, I don't know what to wear. And then it takes like two hours to figure out what to wear.
OK, and in that, you're basically digging into this this quota that I was telling you about where you need to make decisions. So this is the reason why, for example, Steve Jobs would always have the same shirt. You know, the guys, they all dressed in black or something like this because they don't have time to waste with these decisions that are actually going to take some of their brainpower.
OK, and that's the last thing I want to do, is to waste time with decisions. And that's the reason why, you know, to be honest, I have my text messages for my food deliveries. I just copy and paste every day. ย I know which restaurant to contact, boom, copy paste and stuff. And it's also, you know, I optimized my life as much as I can.
So optimizing in the sense that I want to limit stuff that that's going to take away my brain power. Plus, I don't like doing that, but it's going to take my brain power away from stuff that really matters to me.
I have a gardener and a pool guy and I have a maid and they come twice a week and they will just do that stuff so that I don't have to worry about it.

How to take efficiency to the next level
It may be it may be your reality right now where on Saturdays I do my shopping. Right. So you need to go and do the grocery shopping. And then on Sunday you need to reserve some time because you need to clean and stuff. And it takes a lot of energy. It takes a lot of your time that you could devote to something else.
And that's the last thing I want to do on this planet. So I haven't been grocery shopping as long as I've have been here. I mean, since I started traveling around the world and stuff, maybe like seven years. I don't go grocery shopping. It takes so much time to go.
I like to be as efficient as possible. And for me it's not the most cost effective but the productive use of my brainpower. I can't take an hour to figure out what to wear, what to eat and stuff. No, I'd rather be able to like, strategize.
OK, so all my life is really optimized for this and this is what I'm saying. You know, when, when you are in, something you love and you live it. I live it. It's not just when I'm in front of the computer and I do stuff and I have a few automation things. I do have a lot of automation because again, as I said, I like to optimize stuff.
But it's not just that. It's everything. My life is designed for this.
And it really works for me. It really helps in in a lot of a lot of different things. Even in sports, you know, I will practice there is some things that I will not necessarily practice because I never use it. You know, I will practice the things that really matter, like if you master these moves, you will master like 80 percent and you'll be a very like a very dangerous player.
Efficiency Is Not Doing More, It Is Removing More
For years I thought efficiency meant squeezing more tasks into the same day, so I stacked my hours until I was busy from the moment I woke up. I was exhausted and going nowhere. The real jump came when I stopped asking how to do things faster and started asking which things did not need doing at all. Most of what fills a day is not work, it is motion, and motion feels productive while quietly getting you nothing. The next level of efficiency is subtraction first, then automation of whatever survives the cut.
So before you optimize a single task, delete the ones that do not move the needle, then hand the boring repeatable rest to a system that never gets tired. Speed applied to the wrong work just gets you to the wrong place sooner. I break down how I strip a business down to what actually matters on the Freedom by Choice podcast and in my Diary of a Virtual CEO newsletter. For the data, HubSpot research has benchmarks on where teams lose the most time, and Zapier shows how to automate the repetitive work that eats your week.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you take efficiency to the next level?
By removing more, not by doing more. The jump comes when you stop asking how to do things faster and start asking which things do not need doing at all.
Why does a packed day still get you nowhere?
Because most of what fills a day is not work, it is motion, and motion feels productive while quietly getting you nothing.
What is the right order to work in?
Subtraction first, then automation of whatever survives the cut. Delete the tasks that do not move the needle, then hand the boring repeatable rest to a system that never gets tired.
Should you optimise a task before questioning whether it belongs?
No. Speed applied to the wrong work just gets you to the wrong place sooner.
