Quality or Quantity? which one matters most?

They both matter, and both are worth pursuing.

Both have different values, and both are valuable.

But each demands a different investment in time and attention.

Quality is worth investing time and effort in. It’s a much higher return than quantity, and it’s a long-term investment. It’s a focus that will change your customers and your business, in a good way.

Quantity, too, is necessary. But it’s a shorter term, more fleeting investment.

Quality happens when you pay attention, when you build something that matters, when you take the time to do the job right.

Quantity is when you put out a lot of work that doesn’t matter (or worse, that doesn’t matter to you personally).

But it’s your choice. The most valuable thing can’t be both.

Start with quantity. Volume builds the skill, the iteration speed, and the data set you need to recognize what quality looks like in your niche. Most creators try to ship one perfect piece per month and learn nothing. Ship five rough ones, study what lands, then double down. Quality becomes the natural byproduct of disciplined volume.

How does the quantity vs quality trade-off change as a business matures?

Quantity wins in years one and two, then quality compounds in year three and beyond. Once you have a working voice, a working offer, and at least 50 published pieces of evidence, your audience expects more depth per asset. The ratio inverts: fewer pieces, each carrying more weight, each engineered to convert.

What is the biggest cost of obsessing over quality too early?
