The point of the podcast is, well, something very important.
And it's a good reminder that I had, when I was watching a course on something to improve my skills in a particular field that I don't know much about. And so the person who created the course, reminded me of something that I should apply more. And you tend to forget that kind of stuff.
So there is a concept of pain and gain. Okay. So the gain is what? The gain is, you know, when you're selling a weight loss product or something, right. You're showing people the gain.
So we have a tendency of while going straight to the gain. And very often we have a tendency to exaggerate the game. But here's the thing. There is something called the pain as well. And the pain is very under estimated because it's painful. Right. So, you don't want to show the pain or anything.
But here's the thing. If I take the example of weight loss. Don't put this super model or anything that people cannot associate with because if you go too far into the gain, people will be like, dude, I'll never be like this. Whatever I do, it's not going to work. So people are not going to do anything. So in this case, you need to show the pain and show someone who's like them, you know?
So on your image, you're just going to show a regular person, a regular person with some belly fat to lose or like their arms or thighs or whatever. Because here's the thing. If people see that supermodel, they're like, dude, that's not me.
But if you show someone the regular guy, the pain that they're feeling right now is going to be activated. Oh, yeah. That's me. That's me. I've I have the same problem there. All right. And they see that this product that you have is not for the supermodel, but it's for them.
So first of all, it's going to show them that it's for them. And secondly, it's going to remind them of the problem that they have and they want to get rid of. OK. It's very powerful because these people will actually relate to your product, which is what you want. You're selling them a solution. OK.
Why do you absolutely NEED the pain?
So if you're trying to sell them a solution to some sort of problem that they don't have, then this is someone else's problem. They don't buy your product. If you show them a solution to what they're currently experiencing, they'll be like, oh, yep. You know what? Let me hear what you have to say. OK.
We have a tendency of going straight to the gain and end up making that product look inaccessible or, you know, a product for someone else, even though maybe the content is actually for them. Right. But you're showing them someone who has nothing to do with them, you know.
So you need to make sure to use that pain as well, you know, to make people believe you and relate to you. Once people relate to you, they'll be far more interested in what you have to say because you're actually talking about their problem.
Remember, people don't care about your problems, they care about their problems. Right. So if you show them something about rich people problems or super skinny super model problems, people will be like, dude, what the hell with this?
