And halfway through the talk, you always have these idiots, these hecklers and one woman is
Like, oh, get to the point, where's the meat and potatoes? There's so much fluff. And I'm like, Jesus Christ. I mean some people are just bitter or something. I don't know what it is.
You do have to understand the concept if you want to be able to apply something, OK? And as much as you always have to face these idiots, generally speaking, these are people who have never done anything or achieved anything and they're just moaning and just being horrible people.
I didn't really care about this woman but it's just a reminder of something that I want to tell you.
When you are building your avatar, remember, your Avatar is who your client is. Where do they live? How old are they? All this like demographic stuff that allows you to build some sort of a sketch of that person. So you know how to talk to them and stuff.
But there is something that's fundamentally wrong with this and something that's actually missing and this woman is the prime example of this. What you want to do when you build your avatar and stuff, especially if you're in the service business, is in addition to figuring out how much money they make, what kind of car they drive and where they work and all that kind of stuff.
You need to worry about the human qualities, like the attributes that they have. What kind of people do you want to work with? OK, so you have to list those people that you don't want to work with. So when you do your avatars, it is good to do an avatar of the people you want, the people that you know are good.
And this is one of the people that you don't want. OK, because a person like this woman, for example, I mean, it's the last person I want to talk to on the planet. You know, just imagine having someone like this as a client.
You're trying to explain something. They need to understand the concept. Otherwise it's not going to work. They start moaning, you know, people who moan, people who complain all the time.
How to put your customer avatar on steroids
So this is something that people don't ask you to do when you do your avatar. So they don't ask you to, like, define the person as what are those values that you want.
So let's say, for example, people are eager to learn. They're good listeners, they're action takers and all that kind of stuff. If you're only looking at how much money they make and where they live, you can end up with assholes in that list, OK?
And as I said, this wasn't my sentence, but I love it. You know, there is no amount of money that can justify a certain level of assholelness.
So this this woman, for example, I mean, she's way past the asshole scale. These are the people I don't want to work with them. They'll just take your vital energy, OK? And it's a very big mistake when we don't think about this.
And this is the reason why sometimes people are like, oh, man, I come back from work, I'm miserable. I hate my clients and stuff. Well, here's the thing. The clients choose you, but you can choose the clients as well, especially if you're in a profession where you are in the service business.
