I was able to solve a problem that actually had been plaguing me and a problem that I keep telling you about that was affecting me as well.
So it's one of those podcasts where I say, you know what, I told you this but it happened to me. And the reason why I tell you this is because I go through the same things you do sometimes, you know?
I have an email business. And the email business is working pretty well. We had a couple of problems with a few servers a few months ago. And we're still trying to get back to that level there. So it's a lot of discovery, a lot of extra experimenting. And we're getting there, you know, and I forgot how long it took to get there.
And I just want to go there, like, super-fast, you know, get back there instead of being a little bit more patient.
So what basically happened after that is that I know other people who were doing the same thing as I do. We're doing affiliate marketing with brands in France. And I know friends of mine who, well, they're able to kind of like send way more than I can send right now because of these problems that I told you.
So I had someone in my team know, every time I was giving him some instructions, it was, oh, I want to do the same thing as X. But then I realized that, you know, gradually I became obsessed with what other people were doing instead of focusing on what I was doing. And it was putting some pressure on my team.
One of my biggest mistakes in business
These are things that you forget. That it took a long time for the system to be stable and for me to get to the high volumes that I was sending. I didn't do it overnight. And then that's the thing with email and your reputation and stuff. It takes a long time to build it, but it will fall down very quickly.
I was so focussed on what my buddies were doing, that I just completely forgot about all the lessons that I'm giving people saying, you will get there eventually. There is no rush.
My aim is for my business to keep running until the end of times. I have more than enough money to live, so it's not like I need millions or something. You know, my lifestyle is pretty simple.
When you're constantly thinking about what this other person is thinking, it's really not healthy. And, you know, once you stop doing this, then you're a free man and, you know, life becomes a lot a lot easier.
At some point you just need to, like, realize it, then you come to your senses and it's a lot more relaxing when you're just worrying about your stuff, like, honestly, why should I worry about that? Good for them. You know, I'm happy.
So when I was saying that I was fixating on what they were doing, I wasn't fixating on what they're doing in terms of all those bastards I'm jealous and stuff, you know? So it's never been anything about jealousy or anything.
So, yeah, good for them. I'm happy. These are buddies of mine, so I'm happy that they're there.
