All good things come to an end, right? Well, this is just the start of something great, guys.
In case you missed any of the other days in this course, I placed them in a secret spot on my blog just for students.
- Day 1: Why you should start a blog
- Day 2: How to find your voice and what to blog about
- Day 3: How to create your first blog
- Day 4: How to earn good money in blogging
- Day 5: My dirty little secrets to earn passive income with your blog
- Day 6: How to get people to follow your blog and your social media accounts
For the last day, I want to give you some last-minute tips that will separate you from the rest.
Find your own voice and stay in your lane.
You want to be genuine and unique. Copying someone or pretending to be someone else takes far too much energy. You are better than anybody at being who you are. So just use your natural skills. If you are goofy, then be goofy. It’s always easier to connect and relate to someone who you feel is genuine and not playing a role.
Put some thought in your “about me” page.
This is statistically the second most read page on any website, guys. Yet only a few people put in the effort to write a good “about me” page. I suggest telling the reader more about
- what you believe in,
- what you past struggles were,
- how you overcame them,
- what your life looks like right now,
- how you can help them get to where they want to go, and
- how you are still in your journey yourself.
Make sure to reply to comments and connect with your audience.
Your reader has made an effort to connect with you. You should take a minute to reply with even just a “thank you” or a simple form of respect for their time and kindness. It doesn’t have to be super long either. Just thank them for their time and answer their question the best you can.
For example, I am very upfront with my audience to manage expectations. My goal is to be as detached as possible from my business, which means that I won’t be 24/7 in front of my computer, looking at comments. So even though I will get to my comments eventually, it might take a little bit of time. By telling my audience this in advance, I can better manage their expectations and minimize frustrations.
Put in place easy-to-access subscription boxes.
You really want to get people’s emails to establish a long-lasting relationship and build a loyal following. Today people’s attention span is similar to your goldfish’s, and very often, people won’t think about going back to your blog unless you remind them that you posted something cool.
This is why you want to make the “opt in” as easy as possible on every single page of your blog.
Start a longevity blog where you will have tons of fun!
Working on something you enjoy doing is always doubly fun and won’t even feel like work. Furthermore, people can sense when someone is passionate about something. In this case, you will be as passionate as one can be, and this is why people are going to follow you.
Important: If you are eager to start your blog right away, all you need to do is head to this fast-track article on my blog: How to Start a WordPress Blog Tutorial.
