I've been spending some time with my one of my buddies who is here. I told you about him. He's a coach in France. And we do have a lot of very interesting conversations, because he has a lot of direct feedback from people. And he's confronted by a lot of like, really sceptic people.
So we were just talking about all the objections and all the criticism and blah, blah, blah that he was getting. It's just something that's part of the game where we were talking and we just realized, you know, and what we agree on is that some people are in your life right now, but it doesn't mean that they are going to be in your life until the end of time.
But know it happens that you had some friends. I mean, before you guys were super tight and stuff. And, you know, life happens and you start developing other interests and you have a lot of different ambitions and everything, and then you end up taking a different path.
So it happened to me with a really, really good friend of mine. He was my one of my closest buddies. We were always laughing together. And you back in the days when we're younger he was always joking about going out and picking up girls and all that stuff. When we were like twenty something.
So a little bit before I left, I packed everything and left France, we went on a weekend together in Barcelona. But it turns out that this was one of the worst weekends that I have ever spent, because that's the only thing he could think about and talk to me about was girls.
Oh, man, this girl there and this girl here. And it was bad because, I mean, he had girlfriends and stuff and he actually didn't know anything about them. What they liked, what their ambitions were. Sometimes he actually forgot what their names were and stuff like that was pretty bad.
You could see him like a predator and was looking around, oh, who can I go in and prey on? And I was like, dude, slow down.
Want to know who's going to exit your life soon? Here is the answer
But anyway, after this weekend, I realized that, you know, my buddy actually kind of broke my heart because he was my buddy. And I just realized that he was in something completely different, like the polar opposite of what I like. I don't like to meet hundreds of thousands of people and stuff like that.
I like to have deep conversations with people, you know, meaningful conversations where you learn stuff and you grow. So anyway, you know, just to say that, you know, some people were in your life at some point of your life because maybe that's what you needed at the time, or maybe you were just in sync at the time.
But then life happens and it's fine that some people are not in your life anymore. You don't have to feel bad like, man, I think we fell out or something. No, life happens sometimes. No hard feelings.
I haven't necessarily spent time with this guy any more afterwards because it was just too extreme for me. I honestly thought he was kidding before, but I realized that he wasn't and that some people are actually like this. You know its stuff that you might see in the movies.
But it was a problem. Some people are actually like this. So it will happen to you as well. The minute you start investing in your future and getting to all these like personal growth and entrepreneurship and stuff like that, not even just entrepreneurship, but just personal growth.
You don't have to become an entrepreneur or something. You can basically realize that, you know what, some of these guys I'm hanging out with, they're just not the right crowd for me. And then you find people who will give you what you actually need to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell who will stay in my life long term?
Watch who keeps showing up when you have nothing to offer that day. People who celebrate your wins without envy, give honest feedback, and remember the small things tend to stay. Those who only call when they need something usually drift away as your priorities change. Behaviour during your quiet seasons reveals everything.
Which factors most often cause people to exit your life?
Diverging values, mismatched ambition, geography, and growth pace are the most common factors. As you change, some relationships stretch and adapt while others snap. The exit is rarely about a single conflict. It is usually about two trajectories that no longer point in the same direction, and pretending otherwise only delays the inevitable.
Should I try to keep every old friend or business contact?
No. Trying to keep every relationship spreads your energy thin and prevents new, better fits from forming. Be honest about which connections still serve both sides. Some bonds deserve real effort. Others deserve a respectful drift. Quality of relationships matters more than quantity, especially as your business and your standards grow.
How should entrepreneurs handle people leaving their inner circle?
Handle exits with composure, not drama. Thank the person for the season you shared, in your head if not out loud, and protect any shared business interests cleanly. Avoid public attacks. Your inner circle is one of your most important assets, and the way you handle exits sets the tone for who joins next.
