Today we are going to talk about the benefits of emotional mastery. What can a better control of your emotions do for you in your business and personal life?
So the podcast is actually going to be about a quote that I read today. The quote says โyou have to train your mind to be stronger than your feelings or else you're going to lose yourselfโ. All right.

You know, when you let your emotions run wild and you don't take the time to process and take a calculated and logical approach, then this is when you end up in a lot of trouble.
So this is how some fights actually start for nothing. Right. For stuff like that can easily be avoided. Stuff that's pointless. But still, people just they just fight. They react on the spot and stuff.
I have developed the skill because I don't like conflict. Man, I hate it. I absolutely hate conflict. And I know that the situations when people are mad and they're like emotional and stuff, they will just blast some stuff and then will worry about it later. Then theyโll come back and say I'm sorry for what I said.
You know, I like to process the information. I'll think about it. I'll come back when I'm calmer, because that's the thing. When you're mad and you're hyped up and everything, you just don't listen. You know, you start being mean and you're trying to be as mean as possible to the other person. And sometimes you say stuff that's irreparable.
So you know what we're talking about here in business, it's actually very true. So you are building that lifestyle of yours and your lifestyle business is not going to be a fun ride all the time. There are going to be bumps. And it's like a roller coaster. And sometimes you might encounter situations where it's really stressful. And a lot of people lose it.
Me, I was in situations where we were trying to do something. There was a problem and people just lost it. That doesn't work. And then people started arguing. I'm more the type of person who will think about it. And then I will act afterwards once everybody's calm and we can actually have a discussion. Right.
And yeah. So in a lot of things that you're going to do, sometimes you'll hit a wall. OK. And if you let your emotions get the best of you, because these emotions are going to be, you know, like disappointment and lack of confidence in yourself. And you're sad and you're depressed and you're this and you're that. Well, this is going to kill you, man. It's going to kill all your efforts.

Because unless you're like a stone or something, you do have emotions, right. You just need to make sure they don't get the best of you. Right. You feel them, but you control them. You like. Okay. All right. So I'm very disappointed now. But what can I do about that? Right.
Why is whatever I'm trying to do not working? And then you analyse the situation and you realize that there are, I don't know, like 10 possible suspects. And you start eliminating the suspects one by one until you find what we know what the problem was.
Because in this you know, in this journey towards creating your ideal lifestyle and everything, you need to understand that very often, you know, it's going to be you and yourself in that journey. Right. When you're in a corporate environment, the stuff that other people take care of, you know, of accounting and sales and blah, blah, blah stuff. Right.
So you have support. You have your team, and they can calm you down and all that stuff. But very often when you work, when you do the same thing as I do, you might end up in situations where, I don't know, you're working remote and itโs all on you to be able to stay focused and motivated and everything. And if you let your emotions and especially the bad ones, you get the best of you then it's going to make your life a lot harder.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is emotional mastery and why does it matter for entrepreneurs?
Emotional mastery is the ability to feel an emotion without being controlled by it. For entrepreneurs it matters because business produces a constant feed of triggers (rejection, money stress, criticism) and the founders who keep deciding clearly under emotional load outlast the ones who react impulsively.
How do you develop emotional mastery as a business owner?
Build three habits: 1) name the emotion before responding (anger, fear, shame), 2) wait 90 seconds before any decision made under strong emotion, 3) journal one trigger per day for 30 days. This rewires the gap between stimulus and response from milliseconds to seconds.
What is the cost of poor emotional regulation in business?
Lost deals from defensive replies, lost partners from outbursts, lost weeks from procrastination after rejection, and lost customers from inconsistent quality when mood drives output. Studies on founder burnout point to emotional reactivity as the single biggest predictor of premature business exit.
How long does it take to see results from working on emotional mastery?
First wins show in 2 to 4 weeks: fewer regrettable emails, longer fuse before reacting, faster recovery after bad days. Deeper changes (decision quality under stress, conflict resolution skill, calm in negotiations) take 6 to 12 months of consistent practice with feedback from people you trust.
